What we measure, and your choice

Anonymous visit counts by default. Cookies, replays and surveys only if you accept.

PostHogWhat we measure

We use PostHog, hosted in the US, to understand how gradients.sh is used: which pages are visited, which components get installed, where people get stuck, and which errors they hit.

Requests go through gradients.sh itself, so the data goes to us and PostHog only. We don't sell it or use it for advertising.

ConsentCookies and your choice

Until you choose, and if you decline, we set no analytics cookies; declining stores only that choice. Visits are counted anonymously with a hash of the day, your IP address and your browser, which can't be traced back to you and changes daily.

If you accept, PostHog sets a cookie so repeat visits connect, we keep one so you see the same version of any page we are testing, records some sessions as replays, may show a one-question survey, and links your activity to your account when you sign in (your account id, email, name and plan).

EmailAccount emails

When you create an account, its email and name go to PostHog so we can send you a few emails from Leo: a welcome, a tip or two, a note about Pro and an occasional check-in. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and replies reach a real person.

This happens whatever you chose about cookies: it's tied to your account, not to tracking your browsing.

ReplaySession replays

Replays show the page layout and clicks, not what you type: every text field is masked. Account and API token pages are never recorded, and network requests and their contents aren't captured.

Replays are kept for 30 days.

ServerErrors, account activity and crawlers

When a page or the server hits an error, the error and the page it happened on are reported so we can fix it. Purchases are recorded from the billing system's confirmation, and a few account actions (saving a gradient, making a CLI token, connecting an agent, installing a Pro component) are recorded by the server, all tied to your account.

Crawlers and AI agents that fetch pages are counted from the server, with their user agent and IP address.
