AI agents

Paste a gradients.sh link into Claude Code, Codex or Cursor and let it install the gradient.

Coding agents can install anything from gradients.sh on their own. Copy the link of a gradient you like, such as a studio page with your tweaks, and give it to your agent:

Add this gradient behind the hero on the home page:
https://gradients.sh/studio/blue-hour?c=…

The agent reads the page and finds the exact install command for the settings in that link, the code to use the component, and what to do if the project has no components.json yet. Free gradients need no account and no token.

How agents read the site

Every gradient, preset list and docs page has a Markdown version. Agents get it by asking for text/markdown, or by adding .md to the path and keeping the query:

https://gradients.sh/studio/blue-hour.md?c=…
https://gradients.sh/docs/components/aurora.md

/llms.txt is the starting point for an agent with no link: it lists every component, how to install each one, and the Pro setup.

Pro gradients

Pro components install as your account. Your agent connects with a one-time device login, so you never copy a token by hand:

  1. The agent starts a login and shows you a link and a code, such as BCDF-2345.
  2. Open the link, sign in if asked, and check the code matches. Click Connect agent.
  3. The agent receives a personal token, saves it to .env.local as GRADIENTS_TOKEN, adds the registries to components.json and installs.

The connection appears under CLI access on your account page, named after the agent. Disconnect it there at any time. Approve only requests you started yourself in the last few minutes; anyone holding the token can install Pro components as you.

Save the skill

To have your agent know gradients.sh without a link, save the skill file in your project or your home folder:

mkdir -p .claude/skills/gradients-sh
curl -o .claude/skills/gradients-sh/SKILL.md https://gradients.sh/skill.md

Other agents read the same file from their own skills folder, such as .agents/skills/gradients-sh/SKILL.md.

shadcn search and MCP

Both registries publish an index, so npx shadcn@latest search @gradients and the shadcn MCP server can list and install components once the registries are in components.json. The Pro setup shows the full configuration.
